Noh, eks igalühel ole kuskilt teadusesaidillt mõni hämmastava loomuga pilt silma jäänud. Et postime siis nad siia koos kirjeldusega.
Esimene:
http://www.badastronomy.com/bablog/2008/05/26/best-image-ever/
Phoenix maandumas Marsile. Need kaks täppi on siis Phoenixi kulgur ja avanenud langevari.
Tavaliselt on ikka pildid juba pärast toimumist, tühjad marsi pinnad jne. Kuid see pilt on toimumishetk, üks väga tähtis moment. Nüüd tahaks seda veel lähemalt näha.
Teine:
http://photojournal.jpl.nasa.gov/jpeg/PIA08329.jpg
Leia Pildilt Maa.
Tegemist on siis cassini pildistatud Saturniga, vasakul pool on kuskil kaugel näha Maa, üks pisike väike täpp, kuskil seal täpil on Eesti ja meie kodud.
Cassini asus sel hetkel 1,3 millionit miili Saturnist eemal. Kaugus Maast ulatub noh... miljarditesse.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pale_blue_dot
Ja selle pildi sügava tähenduse illustreerimiseks lisan ühe väljavõtte Carl Sagani raamatust A Pale Blue Dot:
Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there--on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam.
The Earth is a very small stage in a vast cosmic arena. Think of the rivers of blood spilled by all those generals and emperors so that, in glory and triumph, they could become the momentary masters of a fraction of a dot. Think of the endless cruelties visited by the inhabitants of one corner of this pixel on the scarcely distinguishable inhabitants of some other corner, how frequent their misunderstandings, how eager they are to kill one another, how fervent their hatreds.
Our posturings, our imagined self-importance, the delusion that we have some privileged position in the Universe, are challenged by this point of pale light. Our planet is a lonely speck in the great enveloping cosmic dark. In our obscurity, in all this vastness, there is no hint that help will come from elsewhere to save us from ourselves.
The Earth is the only world known so far to harbor life. There is nowhere else, at least in the near future, to which our species could migrate. Visit, yes. Settle, not yet. Like it or not, for the moment the Earth is where we make our stand.
It has been said that astronomy is a humbling and character-building experience. There is perhaps no better demonstration of the folly of human conceits than this distant image of our tiny world. To me, it underscores our responsibility to deal more kindly with one another, and to preserve and cherish the pale blue dot, the only home we've ever known.

It changed the future, and it changed us. It taught us that we had to create the future, or others will do it for us. It showed us that we have to care for each other, because if we don't, who will? And that strength sometimes comes from the most unlikely of places. Mostly, though, I think it gave us hope that there can always be new beginnings, even for people like us. |

Üks tore pilt Rahvusvahelise Kosmosejaama (ISS) pardalt:
(kliki pildil, et näha suuremalt)
Eriliseks teeb pildi see, et see on kui midagi mõnest ulmefilmist, kuid tegelikult on see reaalsus. Täpsemalt on pilt tehtud siis hiljuti üles viidud Cupola moodulist, mis ongi ette nähtud Maa vaatlemiseks.

Siia sobiks siis muidugi ka selline sait nagu NASA Astronomy Picture of the Day Archive:
http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/archivepix.html
Seal on ka Enterprise'i viidatud pilt 15. novembri (2010) all ilusti olemas. |

Sobib siia kategooriasse ilmselt väga hästi. Discovery viimase missiooni pildid:

Mõtlesin, et siia teemasse võiks sobida ka viide kollektsioonile Nõukogude kosmoseprogrammi piltidest, mida meile tänapäeval kergemini kättesaadavatest allikatest ei leia - Soviet Space Image Catalog
Piltide kvaliteet ei ole küll võrreldav uuemate NASA ja ESA sondide tehtud fotodega (eriti mis puudutab pilte Kuust ja Marsist), kuid kosmoseuurimise ajaloo huvilistele peaks seal nähtav üht-teist põnevat pakkuma - näiteks pilte Veenuse pinnalt ongi ainsana teinud vaid Nõukogude sondid. _________________ Administraator
